              Welcome to the California Consortium Promoting Stay-At-Work/Return-To-Work

              Established in 2007, the California Consortium Promoting Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work is an independent, voluntary group of California-based stakeholders and professionals engaged with stay-at-work and return-to-work policies and practices.  We represent every facet, perspective, and concern of the SAW/RTW process in the common interest of preventing needless work disability. Through monthly meetings, correspondence, and small work groups formed around specific member objectives, the California Consortium's purpose is to share ideas and innovations; undertake specific projects to illuminate solutions; and build support for those which will best keep Californians working safely and productively while healing from and/or coping with medical or functional impairments.

              Our Vision

              The vision of the California Consortium to Promote Stay-At-Work/Return-To-Work is to establish in the minds of employers, employees, health care providers, insurance carriers, and policy makers the salutary effects on all parties of safe, productive employment. Further, we seek to illuminate the critical relationship of ongoing employment to individual and community health (its advocacy and maintenance), to effective workplace accommodation and to the prevention of needless work disability.

              Our Mission

              The mission of the California Consortium is to promote stay-at-work and return-to-work initiatives and provide resources and strategies within the public domain for interested stakeholders to ensure that working Californians with emergent medical and/or functional impairments resulting from any circumstance are actively encouraged, by healthcare providers, employers, labor and other stakeholders to stay-at-work and/or return-to-work.


              Disclaimer: The California Consortium to Promote SAW-RTW (CA Consortium) provides resources and strategies for interested stakeholders to help ensure that California employees affected by medical/functional impairments will be actively encouraged to stay at and/or return to work. Membership is free and voluntary. The CA Consortium comprises interested individuals who may or may not necessarily represent their respective employers. Members shall be responsible for protecting proprietary information of their own company, within their CA Consortium communications.
              When members contribute training resources, materials or tools to the CA Consortium, the offerings will be treated as non-proprietary, educational or informational and shall be free from commercial or promotional bias. All source attributions shall be noted whenever possible. The topics and materials presented should be relevant and applicable to a broad range of stakeholders. Should copyrighted material be offered it shall be accompanied by a written statement clearly outlining any limitations of reuse and may give permission to copy and distribute with appropriate acknowledgement and credit. Explicitly fee-for-service resources may be posted in a discreet section of its website, pending authentication and approval.
              In keeping with the CA Consortium's intention to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, including in regard to anti-trust laws, members will not disclose any of their company's business practices or policies that could be construed as proprietary, protected or confidential during the course of any of the CA Consortium's internal or external communications.
